Hon. Edmond Boateng, H.C., is a distinguished Ghanaian diplomat, public administration expert, international relations practitioner, and accomplished entrepreneur whose work spans diplomacy, governance, business development, and sustainable development. He is the Founder of the Evimeria Group of Companies and President of the EkB Foundation, platforms through which he has advanced cross-border partnerships and community-focused initiatives with lasting impact.
With close to three decades of professional experience, Mr. Boateng has built an exceptional career across both the public and private sectors, demonstrating strategic leadership in international engagement, policy advisory, and global business relations.
Born in Accra, Ghana, he received his early education locally before pursuing higher education in Political Science and Philosophy. He subsequently obtained a Master’s Degree in International Relations, Politics and Economics from the United Kingdom, reflecting a strong academic foundation in global governance, diplomacy, and international economic systems.
To complement his academic training, Mr. Boateng has undertaken executive and professional development programmes at leading global institutions. These include a Certificate in Global Diplomacy (United Kingdom), executive training in EU Diplomacy and Diplomatic Practice at the College of Europe, and advanced studies in European Defence and Security. He has also completed postgraduate training in Leadership and Negotiation at Harvard Law School, as well as executive training in Oil, Gas and Mining Governance at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, further strengthening his expertise in international negotiation, energy policy, and resource governance.
Mr. Boateng has an exemplary public service record, having served at the Office of the President of the Republic of Ghana, where he contributed to high-level policy coordination, diplomatic engagements, and compliance with public financial management frameworks. His role involved supporting government’s international cooperation agenda and strengthening institutional coordination across sectors.
His governance experience extends to his service on the Entity Tender Committee of the National Identification Authority (NIA), where he contributed to procurement oversight and regulatory compliance. He is also associated with the African Rainforest Advisory Project, contributing to policy discourse on environmental sustainability and conservation across Africa.
Within the diplomatic community, he plays a prominent leadership role. He serves as Secretary of the Honorary Consular Corps of Ghana (HCCGH) and is a member of the Fédération Internationale des Corps et Associations Consulaires (FICAC AISBL), the global body representing consular corps worldwide.
As Honorary Consul of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Ghana, Mr. Boateng is instrumental in promoting bilateral relations, facilitating trade and investment, and strengthening diplomatic, economic, and commercial cooperation between Ghana and Luxembourg—one of Europe’s leading financial centres.
He has participated extensively in international engagements, including high-level conferences and policy dialogues involving the United Nations, Heads of State and Government, and major international institutions. His engagements have included strategic discussions at institutions such as NATO and the European Parliament, reflecting his active role in global governance and security discourse.
Mr. Boateng also serves as an Honorary Advocate of the Africa Women and Children Conference (AFRIWOCC), contributing to initiatives aimed at empowering women and advancing the welfare of children across the continent.
Driven by a strong commitment to sustainable development, he founded the EkB Foundation to promote inclusive growth, environmental stewardship, and initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with particular focus on youth and women empowerment.
